YOUR PEOPLE’S MILLIONS VOTE
Campaigns are swinging into action across Wales as eight groups learned today that they have made it through to compete in The People’s Millions TV contest for Big Lottery Fund money worth £250,000.
Five groups in Wales will win awards of up to £50,000 each for their community project from The People’s Millions contest, soon to be broadcast on the ITV Wales Tonight evening news programme.
The regional contest, offering grants that benefit local communities, goes live in the week of 24 to 28 November. The eight schemes will make their bid for the awards on ITV Wales regional news programme with the winners being decided by the public in a phone vote.
Each night (Monday to Thursday) two good cause groups will battle it out and at the end of the week four projects will have won a slice of £250,000 of lottery good cause cash. The runner-up that chalks up the next best number of phone votes phone votes will also win a grant to be the fifth winner, announced on Friday, November 28.
On Monday, November 24, the All Creatures Great and Small organisation in Llanfrecha, Torfaen, will be battling it out against King George V Playing Fields Association in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire.
